Dr. Aed Mahmoud Yaghi (Health Commissioner, NCAG) is a Palestinian physician and health-sector civil society leader, born in Gaza and married with three children. Trained as a urologist in Russia and Egypt, he holds the Palestinian Board in Urology and an MA in Public Health (Health Administration). After working as an urology specialist in Gaza hospitals from 1995 to 2003, he joined the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS) in 2003 and served as Director of PMRS in the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Yaghi held board and leadership roles across major civil society organizations and networks, including as President of the National Society for Rehabilitation (NSR) in Gaza, a board member of the Palestinian NGO Network (PNGO), the NGO Development Center (NDC), and the Arab NGO Network for Development (ANND), as well as Coordinator of PNGO’s health sector and a member of the Ministry of Health advisory council. A consistent advocate for health as a human right, Dr. Yaghi has spoken at numerous regional and international conferences and forums, including engagements before the UN Human Rights Council.
