Adnan Salem Abuwarda is a veteran Palestinian jurist and technocratic public-sector leader, born in Gaza on 5 August 1955. He has an extensive and integrated professional career spanning more than four decades in judicial and prosecutorial work, including public prosecution, court administration, and holding senior judicial positions with direct involvement in judicial decision-making.

He obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Alexandria University during the period 1976-1980. After completing his legal training, he began practicing law in the Gaza Strip in the early 1980s, before joining the Palestinian prosecutorial and judicial systems.

His professional career progressed as follows: Head of the Deir al-Balah Prosecution (1984-2002); Deputy Attorney General in Gaza (2002). He later transitioned to the judiciary, serving as a judge at the Gaza Magistrates Court (2003-2004), then as President of a Court of First Instance (2004-2010), and subsequently as a judge and court president at the Court of Appeal (2010-2019), in addition to his membership in the High Judicial Council (2016-2019).

From 2019 until May 2025, he served as a judge of the Supreme Constitutional Court. He further strengthened his professional expertise through numerous specialized training programs in criminal procedure, criminal investigations, drafting judicial decisions, mediation and alternative dispute resolution, and human rights.

He has practical proficiency in Hebrew and English; he obtained a Hebrew language certificate from Akiva Institute during the period (1985-1986), and obtained an English language certificate in 1986 from Amideast.
